Tiler Training:
International Tile Fitters Training Institute (I.T.F.T.I.) was set up in 1999 for the purpose of teaching the art of tiling.

Our Training Centre is based in Tullamore, Co Offaly. Since we opened we have successfully trained tilers from all parts of Ireland - the United Kingdom and even one from the United States. Many have started their own businesses and others are using tiling as a supplement to their existing jobs. Some of our trained tilers have emigrated and found work in the United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, Canada and the United States

Our Tiler Training Course has been designed as an intensive and detailed training programme, which will give you the necessary information and knowledge needed to set up and operate up your own part or full time tiling business. This course will not only show you how to tile and how to operate a successful business but will also provide you with a full and comprehensive knowledge of the tiling trade.

Registered tilers can avail of the following:
**We provide a back-up service should you require support after starting your own business. This support is available at any time by phone to all trainees who have completed training with us. Problems with tiling / help with legal advice / C2 registration / Business queries / Confidence boost when starting different types of tiling are some of the calls we receive.

**As part of our business Profile Tiling supply tiling tools to the tiling trade. Any tilers registered with us receive tools at cost price. Whatever the tools cost us that is what you pay. Cost price tools are available to all registered tilers even after training. **We have linked up with FBD Insurances and arranged discounted Public Liability Insurance for all registered tilers. Insurance for your tiling tools can be also put in place at very competitive rate.

**Discounted vehicle sign-writing arranged for you when you need it.

**A stationery service is also available for your new business. This service includes Headed Paper / Printed Invoices / Flyers etc.

**When you complete our course you will be presented with a completion certificate and your name placed on a list of ITFTI registered tilers. You can then use this registration on your Advertising / Headed Paper / Vehicle sign-writing / Invoices / Business cards etc.

**This list will also be used - When customers call to check your Advertised Registration / When potential employers call to check your Training Certificate / When employers / builders/ tile centres etc. call looking for Tilers nationwide / When Registered Tilers have excess work and wish to pass this work on to other tilers registered with us / When registered tilers have work outside their own area and wish to pass this work on to tilers registered with us / When immigration authorities from other countries are seeking confirmation on your training prior to the issuing of work visas.

Classes:
Class sizes are confined to a maximum of 5 trainees. Our small class sizes mean a lot more time can be spent with each trainee, thus ensuring you maximise your learning potential. In larger class sizes trainees are waiting regularly because instructors are busy with other trainees and a lot of time is wasted on a course. Our maximum 1:5 ratio means you are always busy learning.

Our Tiler Training Course trains you for Domestic & Commercial tiling. We instruct you in Ceramic Porcelain Terracotta Natural Stone Slate & Marble tiling. Everything you will encounter on the job will be covered in this course.

Our Tiling Course concentrates on teaching quality rather than speed. We have over sixty modules in it. Trainees will learn quickly and will be expected to spend time during the week on exercises which will be given out at each class. This is important and trainees must ensure they allocate time each week for practice. In a response to regular enquiries Profile Tiling attempted recently to operate a course spread over a shorter period of time but found that trainee capabilities at the end of the shorter course were below standard.

A Properly Trained Instructor is vital in any course. We give attention to detail in this aspect. Your instructor will have completed regular courses in training. We keep up to date in training techniques. This includes how to deliver information so that it is fully absorbed by the trainee. Everyone has a different learning technique and the ability to notice and work with these differences is most important. We will help trainees overcome reading and writing problems. Learning difficulties are easily overcome often by a different explanation of the problem. Extra time will be given to trainees with problems. This is done outside normal course
hours and at no extra cost.

All materials and stationery needed for the course are provided by us. Trainees have no further costs imposed on them. A training manual is issued to each trainee at the start of the course.
Tea / Coffee / Soft drinks / Chilled water / Biscuits / Sandwiches and Hot Meals are also included in our price. Our canteen facilities are top class and we cater for special diet requirements e.g. Vegetarian Diabetic etc.

Tools needed for the course will be provided by us but you will need to purchase tools to operate your business. All tools can be provided by us or can be purchased by you at your local tool shop. We do not have a hard sell at the end of the course and there is no obligation on trainees to purchase tools.

To help you get started each trainee will be given (price included in the course) a Sigma tile cutter Art 3A which is a top quality professional tile cutting machine. Sigma is an Italian company, manufacturing tiling tools since the 1950’s. The retail price of this cutter is €280 from us and up to €370 from other retailers. This tile cutter is not included as an advertising gimmick but as a cutting machine that we can trust, explain the workings of and most important solve any problems that trainees may have when cutting different tiles.
Profile Tiling has a large stock of tools both for training and for sale. For left handed trainees we have researched and developed left handed grinders which have reverse rotation. Please note we do not use course hours to supply or sell tools.

Quality Tiling
At present there are still not enough tilers to meet the demand of work available. Learn and practice what we have to teach, which is top quality tiling and you will be in demand even when the economy slows down. We teach our trainees how to operate a quality business which will stand out against all the average ones. Once you can tile to our high standard, there are lots of options open to you both at home and abroad. We teach our trainees to concentrate on quality workmanship rather than on speed. Good tilers are always in demand.
